Trading Strategies Live Training Room Performance Jan - Dec 2011. The Year end story

Once again the performance results speak for themselves and the end of year result is pretty decent. As usual what the end results don't highlight is just how fickle the current market conditions actually are and how tough (mainly emotionally) it has been to trade.

We have seen for most of the year two major extremes of movement from dead as a Dodo to fast action movements which really highlights the old adage of "the money is made in the waiting."

Trading Strategies Live Training Room Performance, the story so far for 2011

The Markets seem to be at the moment very strange. One moment almost stagnant and the next explosive. Literally swinging from one extreme to the other.

Patience and diligence have been key factors in pulling pips out of these conditions. Waiting for the strategy to signal a green light which can mean multiple hours of sideline sitting or patiently sitting in a trade waiting for that movement to get going. One thing is certain, as long as you can sit tight and follow a few rules, there is money to be made.

I think the main thing with the strategy compared to other strategy incarnations is that often I'm already in a position before a movement gets going. This has significant benefits in the current conditions as when a movement does occur it can be very fast and short lived and if your waiting for any type of confirmation you are going to be to late to profit from anything other than scraps on the intraday landscape.

The figures below show the first 4 months of trading. April was a shortened trading month due to multiple national holidays and I shut up shop for the month on the 21st of April. Still some good results.

FurQuad Snatch Strategy performance review 2010

Hi Folks and what a year it has been.

Full of the usual ups and downs as well as many short term trials and tribulations. Looking back on the year in general I would say that it has been a little bit tricky to say the least.

The short term day to day trading saw two vastly different trading conditions. Many a time it was an absolute nightmare to trade, which was often swiftly followed by some very fast profitable movements with minimal input and nothing to do but sit back and read the papers.

This past 12 months has been particularly exciting as well with continued strategy development of what is now my main strategy, FurQuad Snatch.

Overall it has been a pretty good year but it has been hard work to maintain more from a psychological view point, due to the stop start nature of a lot of the movements.

Below you can see the outcome of the year in the live training rooms performance of the trades that have been talked through in real time as they were developing.

The figures below are the cumulative performance and start from March 1st which is when the FurQuad Snatch strategy was rolled out.
